Copyright Notice

Urbex Hub content is protected. You’re welcome to read and share links, but copying, reposting or scraping our images, reports, maps or guides needs permission. Here’s how to request use or report a copyright issue.

Last updated: 08/07/2026

Urbex Hub is built around original reports, photos, guides, tools, map entries and community submissions.

We are happy for people to read our content, share links to it and talk about it. We are not happy with people copying it, reposting it, scraping it, selling it, removing credits or passing it off as their own.

This Copyright Notice explains what belongs to Urbex Hub, what belongs to users, how you can request permission, and how to report a copyright issue.

The quick version

Unless stated otherwise:

  • Urbex Hub owns, or has permission to use, the original content we publish.
  • You can view, read and share links to our content.
  • You cannot copy, repost, scrape, sell or reuse our content without permission.
  • Users keep ownership of content they submit, but give Urbex Hub permission to use it on and around the site.
  • If you think something on Urbex Hub infringes your copyright, contact us at hello@urbexhub.com and we will review it.

Using our content

You are welcome to:

  • read and browse Urbex Hub
  • share links to Urbex Hub pages
  • use built-in sharing buttons where available
  • quote short extracts where allowed by law, with clear credit and a link back to Urbex Hub
  • contact us to ask for permission to use something

You must not use our content in a way that suggests Urbex Hub endorses you, your project, your business or your content unless we have agreed this in writing.

Uses that need permission

You need written permission from us before you:

  • copy or republish our reports, articles, guides or descriptions
  • download, repost or reuse our images, photos, graphics or videos
  • use our content in books, magazines, videos, documentaries, websites, apps or commercial projects

Permission is not granted unless we confirm it in writing.

Requesting permission

If you want to use Urbex Hub content, email us at:

hello@urbexhub.com

Please include:

  • the content you want to use
  • the page it appears on
  • how you want to use it
  • where it will be published
  • whether the use is personal, editorial, educational, commercial or promotional
  • how long you want to use it for
  • any deadline you are working to

We may approve, refuse or set conditions for use. For example, we may ask for credit, a link back to Urbex Hub, limits on editing, or a licence fee for commercial use.

Credit and attribution

If we give you permission to use Urbex Hub content, you must follow any credit instructions we give you.

Unless we say otherwise, a suitable credit is:

© Urbex Hub

Where a named photographer, writer or contributor is credited, you should include their name as well.

For online use, we may also ask for a visible link back to the relevant Urbex Hub page.

User-submitted content

Users and contributors keep ownership of the content they submit to Urbex Hub.

This may include reports, comments, reviews, photos, videos, captions, descriptions, map locations and other submissions.

By submitting content to Urbex Hub, you give Urbex Hub a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use that content in connection with Urbex Hub.

This licence allows us to:

  • host, store and display your content
  • publish it on Urbex Hub
  • use it in map entries, reports, guides, tools and community features
  • resize, crop, format or optimise it for the website
  • edit formatting, spelling or layout where needed
  • moderate, review, hide, remove or restrict it
  • use it in newsletters, social media posts or promotional material for Urbex Hub
  • show your username, display name or credited name alongside it
  • keep reasonable copies in backups, logs or records where needed

This does not transfer ownership of your content to us. It simply gives us permission to use it for Urbex Hub.

What you confirm when submitting content

When you submit content to Urbex Hub, you confirm that:

  • you created the content, or you have permission to submit it
  • the content does not infringe someone else’s copyright
  • you have permission for any images, video, music, text or other material included in it
  • you are not uploading copied content from another website, social page, photographer, publisher or creator without permission
  • the content does not breach anyone’s privacy or legal rights
  • you understand that published content may be visible to other users and visitors

Please do not upload content that you do not have the right to share.

Map locations and account deletion

Map locations, reports and location-based submissions may form part of Urbex Hub’s wider map, directory and community features.

If you delete your account through your dashboard, map locations connected to your account may be anonymised rather than automatically deleted, unless you specifically ask us to delete them.

This means the location may remain on Urbex Hub, but it should no longer be linked to your account details.

If you want specific content, comments, reports, reviews, photos or map locations removed or corrected, contact us at: hello@urbexhub.com

Editing, moderation and safety

We may edit, hide, restrict or remove content where we think it is necessary.

This may include changes for:

  • formatting
  • readability
  • image size or display
  • privacy
  • safety
  • legal issues
  • copyright concerns
  • moderation
  • protecting sensitive locations
  • removing personal details, faces, number plates or other identifying information

Editing content for these reasons does not mean we claim ownership of it.

Third-party content

Some content on Urbex Hub may come from third parties or be embedded from external services.

This may include:

  • maps
  • videos
  • social media embeds
  • fonts
  • plugins
  • payment or donation tools
  • externally hosted media
  • user-submitted content
  • credited photos or materials

Third-party content remains owned by the relevant owner. We cannot give you permission to use content that does not belong to us.

If you use an embedded feature, external link or third-party service, their own terms and copyright rules may apply.

Reporting a copyright issue

If you believe something on Urbex Hub infringes your copyright, please contact us.

Email: hello@urbexhub.com
Subject line: Copyright issue

Please include:

  • your name and contact details
  • whether you are the copyright owner or acting for the owner
  • the Urbex Hub page or content you are concerned about
  • a description of the copyrighted work
  • evidence that you own the work or have authority to act for the owner
  • what you would like us to do
  • any relevant links, screenshots or supporting information

You do not need to use complicated legal language. A clear explanation is enough.

What happens after a copyright report

When we receive a copyright report, we will review it as soon as reasonably possible.

Depending on the situation, we may:

  • remove or restrict access to the content while we review it
  • ask for more information
  • contact the user or contributor who submitted it
  • edit the content
  • add or correct a credit
  • remove the content permanently
  • reject the request if we do not think there is enough information or a valid issue

We try to handle copyright concerns fairly. We also reserve the right to keep basic records of copyright reports, decisions and related correspondence.

Repeat or serious infringement

If a user repeatedly uploads content that infringes copyright, or if we believe a serious infringement has taken place, we may remove the content, restrict features, suspend the account or delete the account.

We may also take other steps where needed to protect Urbex Hub, creators, contributors and the wider community.

Reporting misuse of Urbex Hub content

If you find Urbex Hub content being copied, reposted, scraped or used without permission elsewhere, please let us know.

Email: hello@urbexhub.com

Please include the link or evidence of the misuse if you have it.

We would rather resolve issues sensibly, but we reserve the right to take appropriate action to protect our content, including takedown requests, licence requests, invoices, platform reports or legal action where necessary.

No automatic licence

Using Urbex Hub does not give you ownership of, or a licence to reuse, our content.

You may only use Urbex Hub content where:

  • we have given you written permission
  • the content clearly includes a separate licence allowing that use
  • your use is allowed by law
  • you are simply viewing the site or sharing a normal link to a page

Legal exceptions

Nothing in this notice is intended to stop lawful uses that are allowed under copyright law, such as fair dealing or other permitted acts where they apply.

However, if you are unsure whether your use is allowed, please ask first.

Changes to this notice

We may update this Copyright Notice from time to time.

When we make changes, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we may take extra steps to let users know.
